I was walking by a travel agency the other day and could not help noticing that most of the airline logos making up the agency's sign no longer existed... I have since then decided to make the list of logos of (major) airlines that no longer transport us today. This is a work-in-progress... The Pan Am Logo

I chose the Pan Am logo for my page because it's such a strong representation of air transport becoming mass. It also carries the whole international experience I love about airlines. And it's so graphic it's memorable. I'm sure it still it is one of the most recognized logos in the Western world... And it's an unbiased choice, Pan Am being long gone.

Perhaps it is industry-leading operating metrics, or customer service on the ground and in the air that consistently earns the highest accolades from experienced international travelers. Perhaps it is flight attendants giving their time to learn sleight-of-hand tricks to entertain young travelers, or staff spending their weekends helping with humanitarian projects across the globe (source ATW, Feb. 2009).
